It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Lots of food, family, love, presents and the Holiday Spirit. But are you aware of the possible hidden dangers that may affect your furry ones? Nothing to be frightened of, this is much like baby-proofing. Below are some tips that may help in keeping your pets safe this Holiday Season.
- Poinsettias, our signature holiday plant can be extremely toxic to cats if ingested. Try to keep them out of reach and if your kitty really enjoys grass, try growing their own catnip garden. Click Here to see a compiled list of poisonous plants courtesy of the ASPCA.
- Oh Christmas Tree! Many potential hazards can be found here, from the water to the tree needles and even lights and ornaments. To keep them away, double sided tape always does the trick. You can also spray the tree with bitter apple and always remember to place electrical wire and sharp objects on a high position within the tree.
- Holiday Food. Who doesn’t like a nice hot chocolate during the holiday season?! Your pets don’t, that’s who! Chocolate along with spices found in holiday foods such as raisins, garlic and grapes are dangerous and toxic to cats. Just keep them away and instead, we recommend you indulge them with Cat-Man-Doo Dry Freeze Treats.
We hope everyone stays safe! And remember that adoption is always the answer!
